ISO 9001 is audited by a certification body and renewed on a cycle. It says the factory runs documented, audited quality processes. It does not certify that any product is safe or durable.
How to check it before you order
Get the certificate number and the certification body's name, then look the certificate up in IAF CertSearch or on the certification body's own site. Check that the certificate is current and that its scope covers fitness equipment manufacturing at the address you are buying from.
